Nicki Farthing is a fully trained professional experienced groomer based at the Studio.  She has over eight years experience as a groomer and has owned dogs for many years. She has experience of all types of dogs and has personally owned over the years a Labrador, Rottweiler, German Wirehaired Pointer,  Beagle Hound, various cross breeds.  She currently owns and shows two Cocker Spaniels.

Nicki has a good working relationship with any type of dog as she understands canine body language and psychology.  She constantly attends courses, seminars and demonstrations to stay aware of standards and techniques. 

 The purpose designed studio is situated  in Whitnash near Leamington Spa, offering an exclusive reliable, one to one and stress free pampering for your much loved dog. Recommended by many local veterinary centres and pet related businesses the client list continues to grow. The studio offers an elite service by only having one dog in at a time.  Your dog will not have to be dropped off and left all day but will need to be picked up within a required time scale (usually 1 1/2 - 2 hours).  The studio DOES NOT offer a dog sitting service and therefore your co-operation is required. 

*Nervous and difficult dogs are a speciality handled by Nicki Farthing a  professionally trained groomer in the studio who understands and has the time to spend on each individual dog reading their body language.

We offer an appointment system and work the following hours and days:

STUDIO HOURS (subject to slight change)

Appointments 9-30 first dog to 4.45 last dog (finish by 7.00)

Closed all day Wednesday

Friday 9.30 first dog to 3.15 last dog

(Saturdays are by prior appointment and there are no current vacancies.  There is a long waiting list for Saturdays with Nicki in the Studio.)

Dogs of most sizes bathed, groomed, trimmed or clipped, nail clipping, ear cleaning,  and general healthcare advice. Flea and tick treatments available.

Only top quality luxury grooming products are used including aromatherapy shampoos and oils  at no extra charge. You can also bring along veterinary prescribed shampoo's if you wish.

Nicki wants to make sure that each owner leaves the salon feeling 100% satisfied with the outcome of her service, and aims to keep the owner educated and fully informed about their dogs' requirements by providing them with useful advice including how to groom their dog.

Handsome Hounds and Pretty Pooches are recommended by many local vets.

Frontline flea and tick treatment also available at extra cost.

This is just to guide you and give you an idea of our charges.  If your breed of dog is not listed it does not mean we don't groom them.  Please ring for more details.  Sorry we can not do extra large breeds due to the lifting.

There are no hidden extras in our costs ( flea and tick treatments are optional extras).

* Dogs which need to be muzzled for their own safety and the staff may require more time so the fee may be slightly more.  Please discuss with the groomer at the time of booking if you know your dog may need muzzling.

THE SERVICE I OFFER

My complete service consists of:

A full discussion with you about your pet.  Assessing the coat condition and your requirements.  It must be emphasized that if the groomer is not in full agreement over the brief with the owner then the dog will not be touched.  We hope a compromise can be reached.  We always have the dogs best interest at heart and will always put the dogs comfort first.

A complete groom out looking for foreign bodies, lumps or injuries

A clip or scissor to the owners requirements.  PLEASE NOTE all matt's will be cut or clipped off.  This is the kindest way as de-matting can be uncomfortable and cause upset to the dog.  If you do not want your dog to have its matt's removed by clipping or scissoring please ensure your dog is not matted when it visits us!

A quality shampoo and canine shower.  Washing every part of the dog including those horrid smelly areas!  Only top quality shampoo's used and we guarantee ALL our water is fresh and not recycled.  We have a variety of professional dog shampoo's designed for different type of hair and skin conditions.  There is a strong emphasis on using natural scented shampoos to prevent any reaction afterwards.   This type of shampoo costs more than the basic ones but we feel it is worth it.  These costs are not transferred to you.  We can also use your own veterinary prescribed shampoo's if necessary.  A fresh & clean warm towel is used on each dog to towel of excess water.

Ear clean.  Removing excess ear wax, any parasites present and deodorizing the ear.

Blow dry and style (we DO NOT use a heated cabinet).

We will cut the nails FREE OF CHARGE when having a complete groom. This is providing the dog will allow us to.  Some dogs get very distressed at this, if so, we will not continue.

A cologne spray to finish (providing dog has no skin problems)

The final step is to give the dog a treat and some loving! If your dog has a digestive problem you can give us it's own treat for afterwards if you wish.

Upon collection you will be informed about anything we have come across or found.  You will be asked if all is O.K. and that you are happy.  We encourage feed back as we want you to go away happy having made your next appointment.

PLEASE ENSURE BEFORE EACH APPOINTMENT DOGS HAVE BEEN BRUSHED AS ALL MATTING WILL BE CLIPPED OR CUT OUT. 

IF WET WEATHER KEEP DOG AS DRY AS POSSIBLE.

DOGS MUST COME ON A LEAD AND HAVE BEEN TO THE TOILET. THANKYOU

Sorry - we do not offer a Mobile service.

Sorry, we do not offer a collect or delivery service. But we can give you a beautifully trimmed or clipped dog and a mobile service for those who can't come to us.

Sorry, discounts are not given unless your dog is a fully trained dog working for 'Dogs for the Disabled'.  Nicki supports this charity and offers 10% to such dogs. (Proof will be required) This discount does not apply to the mobile service.

Sorry, we do not clip or groom cats.

Sorry, we do not offer a crèche/dog sitting facility
